Information

Overview Manuals Principle

Features:

  • 3300 XL 8 mm Proximity Probes
  • 3300 XL 8 mm Proximity Transducer System
  • 330102 3300 XL 8 mm Probe, 3/8-24 UNF thread, with armor
The system provides an output voltage that is directly proportional to the distance between the probe tip and the observed conductive surface and can measure both static (position) and dynamic (vibration) values. The system’s primary applications are vibration and position measurements on fluid-film bearing machines, as well as Keyphasor reference and speed measurements.

Each 3300 XL 8 mm Transducer System component is backward compatible and interchangeable4 with other nonXL 3300 series 5 mm and 8 mm transducer system components5. This compatibility includes the 3300 5 mm probe, for applications in which an 8 mm probe is too large for the available mounting space.

The 330102-00-20-10-01-05 Bently Nevada 3300 XL 8 mm Proximity Probes may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

The 3300 XL 8 mm system delivers the most advanced performance in our eddy current proximity transducer systems. The standard 3300 XL 8 mm 5-meter system also fully complies with the American Petroleum Institute’s (API) 670 Standard for mechanical configuration, linear range, accuracy, and temperature stability. All 3300 XL 8 mm proximity transducer systems provide this level of performance and support complete interchangeability of probes, extension cables, and Proximitor sensors, eliminating the need to match or bench calibrate individual components.

Ask our team:

  • What electromagnetic sensing principle defines the operational mechanism of 330102-00-20-10-01-05 within the 3300 XL 8 mm transducer architecture?
The 330102-00-20-10-01-05 operates on the eddy-current displacement measurement principle, generating a high-frequency electromagnetic field that interacts with a conductive target to produce impedance variations proportional to shaft proximity and vibration.
  • How does the shortened probe length configuration of 330102-00-20-10-01-05 influence installation flexibility and mechanical integration?
The reduced mechanical form factor of 330102-00-20-10-01-05 enhances adaptability for confined mounting spaces while preserving calibrated linear response characteristics and maintaining electromagnetic field stability.
  • What calibrated measurement span and linear operating region characterize the displacement sensitivity of 330102-00-20-10-01-05?
The 330102-00-20-10-01-05 functions within a defined linear measurement range specified for the 8 mm probe system, ensuring accurate micrometer-level resolution when paired with a compatible Proximitor® sensor and matched extension cable.
  • Why is cable length matching and impedance alignment critical for the system performance of 330102-00-20-10-01-05?
The 330102-00-20-10-01-05 is factory-calibrated with a specified total cable configuration; deviations from the defined extension parameters may alter system scale factor, affect phase stability, and compromise measurement accuracy.
  • How does target material conductivity affect the displacement sensitivity of 330102-00-20-10-01-05?
The measurement output of 330102-00-20-10-01-05 depends on the electrical conductivity and magnetic permeability of the monitored shaft, with calibration optimized for ferromagnetic steel to ensure predictable linear performance.
  • How does frequency bandwidth capability determine the suitability of 330102-00-20-10-01-05 for high-speed rotating machinery monitoring?
The 330102-00-20-10-01-05 provides sufficient bandwidth to capture both low-frequency shaft position shifts and high-frequency vibration components, making it suitable for real-time rotor dynamic analysis.
