- 3300 XL 8 mm Proximity Probes
- 3300 XL 8 mm Proximity Transducer System
- 330103 3300 XL 8 mm Probe, M10 x 1 thread, without armor
The system provides an output voltage that is directly proportional to the distance between the probe tip and the observed conductive surface and can measure both static (position) and dynamic (vibration) values. The system’s primary applications are vibration and position measurements on fluid-film bearing machines, as well as Keyphasor reference and speed measurements.
Each 3300 XL 8 mm Transducer System component is backward compatible and interchangeable4 with other nonXL 3300 series 5 mm and 8 mm transducer system components. This compatibility includes the 3300 5 mm probe, for applications in which an 8 mm probe is too large for the available mounting space.
The 330103-00-13-50-12-RU Bently Nevada 3300 XL 8 mm Proximity Probes may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

The 3300 XL 8 mm system delivers the most advanced performance in our eddy current proximity transducer systems. The standard 3300 XL 8 mm 5-meter system also fully complies with the American Petroleum Institute’s (API) 670 Standard for mechanical configuration, linear range, accuracy, and temperature stability. All 3300 XL 8 mm proximity transducer systems provide this level of performance and support complete interchangeability of probes, extension cables, and Proximitor sensors, eliminating the need to match or bench calibrate individual components.
This specific configuration is designed for heavy-duty, long-distance monitoring in environments requiring specific Russian certifications:
Reciprocating compressors: Commonly used for piston rod position monitoring. A 5.0-meter cable (50) and stainless steel armor (12) protect the signal from oil-filled compressor cylinders to the external junction box.
Large steam and gas turbines: Used for axial (thrust) position or key phase applications. Reverse mounting allows for precise clearance adjustments from outside the turbine while the machine is running at low speeds.
Hydropower generators: Monitor shaft vibration and alignment. Typically, a 5-meter cable is required to reach the perimeter of the turbine pit without intermediate extensions.
Oil and gas refineries (Eurasia): The RU suffix indicates compliance with EAC/GOST standards, a mandatory requirement for legal installations in the Russian Federation and neighboring Customs Union countries.
Higher Reliability: The use of a 5-meter probe eliminates the need for probe and extension cable connections, thus avoiding the primary point of failure in vibration systems caused by moisture or oil infiltration.
Armored Protection: 12 layers of armor protect the cable from being crushed or cut by metal shavings, heavy tools, or personnel during maintenance.
External Maintenance: Probe gap can be replaced or adjusted without opening the bearing housing or casing, significantly reducing downtime.
