Product Information:

The 330180-X1-05 MOD: 145004-09 is a factory-customized improvement of the 3300 XL series 5mm/8mm eddy current sensor preamplifier module (proximity sensor) manufactured by Bently Nevada (a subsidiary of Baker Hughes). This preamplifier is a core electronic unit for building non-contact dynamic monitoring systems for rotating machinery.

The 330180-X1-05 MOD: 145004-09 accurately converts the high-frequency AC electromagnetic signal sensed by the probe into an analog voltage signal proportional to the physical clearance of the rotating shaft surface. This preamplifier is widely used in 3500 monitoring instrument frames or field PLC/DCS loops for real-time, safe monitoring of shaft vibration, shaft displacement, and critical phases (speed) in core moving equipment such as steam turbines, large compressors, and high-speed pumps.

330180-X1-05 MOD: 145004-09 perfectly adapts to the metallurgical properties of 410 stainless steel, solving the problem of mechanical vibration measurement distortion caused by the special shaft materials of many special refrigeration compressors, corrosion-resistant chemical pumps, or special gas turbines. Without the need for shielding metal sleeves, it helps control systems eliminate signal interference and equipment tripping errors, making it an indispensable high-reliability hardware component in predictive maintenance (PdM) for large enterprises.

Features:

  • 3300 XL Proximitor Sensor
  • 3300 XL 8 mm Proximity Transducer System
  • DIN Rail Mount Option (also backward-compatible with traditional 4-hole panel mounting configurations)
The 3300 XL Proximitor Sensor incorporates numerous improvements over previous designs. Its physical packaging allows you to use it in high-density DIN-rail installations. You can also mount the sensor in a traditional panel mount configuration, where it shares an identical 4-hole mounting “footprint” with older Proximitor Sensor designs. The mounting base for either option provides electrical isolation and eliminates the need for separate isolator plates.

The 3300 XL Proximitor Sensor is highly immune to radio frequency interference, allowing you to install it in fiberglass housings without adverse effects from nearby radio frequency signals. The 3300 XL Proximitor Sensor’s improved RFI/EMI immunity satisfies European CE mark approvals without requiring special shielded conduit or metallic housings, resulting in lower installation costs and complexity.

The 330180-X1-05 MOD:145004-09 Bently Nevada 3300 XL Proximitor Sensor may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

B: Agency Approval
00: Not required
05: CSA, ATEX, IECEx Approvals
1.ATEX/UKEX Zone 0/1/2 Certification: Complies with European and UK safety standards for potentially explosive environments. For intrinsically safe (Ex ia) installations, rated Zone 0/1 (Group IIC) when wired with approved electrical insulation. For non-sparking configurations, rated Zone 2 (Ex nA / Ex ec).

2.IECEx Global Certification: Complies with international standards IEC 60079-0 and IEC 60079-11. This specifies its gas group classification (Group IIC for hydrogen/acetylene environments) and temperature code (T4/T5, depending on local environmental limitations).

3.North American Certification (CSA/NRTL): Intrinsically safe systems are certified in Zone 1 (Groups A, B, C, D); non-sparking systems are certified in Zone 2 (Groups A, B, C, D).

4.API 670 Standard (American Petroleum Institute): This standard specifies mechanical protection systems. The 3300 XL basic design complies with API 670 requirements for physical dimensions, interchangeable linear range, and accuracy. Although MOD: 145004-09 modifies the internal bridge circuitry to read ASTM A276 410 stainless steel instead of the standard 4140 carbon steel, it still maintains the API-specified 200 mV/mil (7.87 V/mm) linear scaling factor, covering its measurement threshold range.

5.IEC 61508 (SIL 2/SIL 3 Capability): When integrated into larger Bently Nevada 3500 protected racks or certified safety PLC loops, these sensors offer sufficient hardware tolerance and low probability of failure (PFD) to support native SIL 2 systems or SIL 3 systems in redundant voting architectures (e.g., 2/3 logic).
