Features:
- 3300 XL Proximitor Sensor
- 3300 XL 8 mm Proximity Transducer System
- The 3300 XL probe and extension cable also reflect improvements over previous designs
The system provides an output voltage that is directly proportional to the distance between the probe tip and the observed conductive surface and can measure both static (position) and dynamic (vibration) values. The system’s primary applications are vibration and position measurements on fluid-film bearing machines, as well as Keyphasor reference and speed measurements.
Each 3300 XL 8 mm Transducer System component is backward compatible and interchangeable4 with other nonXL 3300 series 5 mm and 8 mm transducer system components. This compatibility includes the 3300 5 mm probe, for applications in which an 8 mm probe is too large for the available mounting space.
The 330180-X1-05 MOD:161255-02 Bently Nevada 3300 XL Proximitor Sensor may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

The 3300 XL 8 mm system is our most advanced eddy current proximity sensor system. The standard 3300 XL 8 mm 5-meter system fully complies with American Petroleum Institute (API) 670 standards, meeting requirements in terms of mechanical construction, linear range, accuracy, and temperature stability. All 3300 XL 8 mm proximity sensor systems achieve this level of performance and support complete interchangeability of probes, extension cables, and Proximitor sensors, eliminating the need for individual component matching or bench calibration.
- Dedicated Target Calibration: MOD 161255-02 specifically indicates that this sensor has been factory calibrated for Inconel 625 shaft material. The standard sensor is calibrated for AISI 4140 steel; using this "MOD" version ensures accurate vibration and position readings when monitoring special alloys commonly found in high-performance or highly corrosive environments.
- Mechanical Protection: Used for real-time monitoring of radial vibration, axial (thrust) position, and velocity/critical phase signals in critical rotating machinery such as compressors, turbines, and pumps.
- Hazardous Area Use: The suffix -05 indicates that the sensor has been certified by multiple agencies (CSA, ATEX, IECEx), allowing it to be installed in industrial environments with potentially explosive atmospheres.
