Product Information:

The 330186-02 is an axial micrometer from the Bently Nevada 3300 XL series. It is a portable hardware tool designed for verifying and calibrating mechanical signals in industrial environments. Its primary function is to verify the accuracy of proximity sensor output signals when directly observing the rotor shaft of rotating machinery or the piston rod of a reciprocating compressor.

In terms of accuracy, the Bently Nevada 330186-02 has a mechanical fine-tuning resolution of 0.01 mm, and its measurement accuracy is strictly controlled within ±0.003 mm throughout the entire measurement range. The micrometer housing is made of high-strength ABS plastic. It comes equipped with a dedicated target mounting base and a precision-calibrated 30.5 mm diameter AISI 4140 standard alloy steel test block, and is seamlessly compatible with M8, M10, M14, and M16 micrometers.

Furthermore, the Bently Nevada 330186-02 supports connection and testing of various imperial standard proximity probes. In practical applications, high-strength flexible straps are used to securely and directly attach the hardware to the surface of the actual measurement target (such as a spindle or piston rod).

Features:

  • 3300XL Monitor and Transducer Verification Kits
  • 3300 XL Shaft Micrometer
  • Delivers a physical step adjustment resolution of 0.01 mm and maintains a strict structural measurement accuracy of ±0.003 mm across its full travel path
The 3300 XL Shaft Micrometer is primarily used to check the output signal of a Proximitor Sensor when viewing the rotor shaft or a reciprocating compressor piston rod. A strap attaches to a mounting base, is wrapped around the target, and is tightened to hold the mounting base firmly in position. A spindle micrometer verifies the Proximitor Sensor output signal.

A probe mounting adapter holds the probe in the mounting base, and the micrometer moves the probe toward and away from the target in calibrated increments. The output from the Proximitor Sensor is recorded using a voltmeter. The 3300 XL Shaft Micrometer also comes with a target holding base and a calibrated 4140 target button to verify that your Proximitor Transducer System is working properly.

The 330186-02 Bently Nevada 3300 XL Shaft Micrometer may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

When using the 3300 XL Shaft Micrometer to generate an output curve for programming a Rod Drop Monitor on a reciprocating compressor, use the buffered output signal on the front of the rod drop monitor rather than the output signal on the Proximitor Sensor. This is because the Rod Drop Monitor is programmed by the user based on the signal at the monitor. This signal will vary from the
output signal on the Proximitor Sensor if you are using intrinsic safety barriers.

Technical notes
