Features:

  • 3300 XL 25 mm Proximity Probe
  • 3300 XL 25mm Proximity Transducer System
  • Bently Nevada Machinery Condition Monitoring
The 3300 XL 25 mm sensor system consists of a standalone 25 mm probe, an extension cable, and a 3300 XL 25 mm proximity sensor. Its output signal of 0.787 V/mm (20 mV/mil) allows for a linear measurement range of 12.7 mm (500 mil). Based on this linear measurement range, the 3300 XL 25 mm sensor system is suitable for measuring differential expansion (DE) in medium to large steam turbine generators caused by the difference in growth rates between the turbine rotor and the generator stator (casing).

While the other sensor observes another ramp or a different location on the rotor to compensate for radial movement. This configuration introduces some measurement error, but it can measure a longer total differential expansion distance compared to complementary measurements. Criteria for selecting the mounting method include: available target size, rotor axial movement distance, and the type of DE target already present in the machine (sleeve-type or ramp-type).

The 330851-02-000-060-10-01-05 Bently Nevada 3300 XL 25 mm Proximity Probe may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

During installation, it is essential to verify that the sensor system is functioning correctly. After installation, the sensor system should be periodically moved to simulate the movement of the shaft collar. This requires a mounting bracket to allow the sensor system to slide relative to the shaft rotor and shaft collar.
Unless otherwise specified, the following specifications apply to the 3300 XL 25 mm proximity sensor, extension cable, and probe.

Operating temperature range is 0°C to +45°C (+32°F to +113°F), equipped with a -24 Vdc power supply, 10 kW load, and a Bently Nevada AISI 4140 steel target, 61 mm (2.4 inches) or larger in diameter, with a probe gap of 7.0 mm (275 mils).

System accuracy and interchangeability specifications do not apply when using sensor systems calibrated to any target other than the Bently Nevada AISI 4140 steel target.
