These accelerometers are suitable for critical mechanical applications requiring the measurement of housing acceleration, such as gear meshing monitoring. The Model 330400 accelerometer is designed to meet the American Petroleum Institute (API) 670 standard for accelerometers. It has a peak amplitude range of 50 g and a sensitivity of 100 mV/g. The Model 330425 accelerometer is similar, but has a larger peak amplitude range (75 g) and a sensitivity of 25 mV/g.

The 16710-10 Bently Nevada Interconnect Cable may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

If housing measurements are performed for comprehensive machine protection, the applicability of the measurement results to each application should be considered. Most common machine failures (imbalance, misalignment, etc.) originate from the rotor and cause increased (or at least altered) rotor vibration. For any individual housing measurement to effectively protect the entire machine, it is essential to ensure that rotor vibration is accurately transmitted to the bearing housing or housing, and more specifically, to the sensor's mounting location.
Main applications: Designed for expanding or interconnecting the Bently Nevada 330400 and 330425 accelerometer sensors.
Main application areas: Widely used in vibration monitoring and predictive maintenance in industries such as oil and gas, petrochemicals, and municipal engineering.

Ask our team:

  • What is the specific functional role of the 16710‑10 in vibration monitoring systems?
The 16710‑10 serves as a ruggedized interconnect cable engineered to provide precise, low‑noise signal transmission between proximity/vibration probes and machine‑protection modules in industrial monitoring architectures.
  • How is the 16710‑10 parametrically defined in terms of electrical conductors and shielding?
The 16710‑10 is constructed with a 3‑conductor shielded configuration, using 22 AWG (0.5 mm²) armored conductors to optimize electrical integrity and electromagnetic interference (EMI) suppression.
  • What connective interfaces does the 16710‑10 employ at its terminations?
The 16710‑10 utilizes a three‑socket plug at one end and robust terminal lug connections at the opposite end, facilitating secure, low‑resistance termination to field hardware.
  • How does the 16710‑10 adhere to industry‑grade electrical performance thresholds?
Electrically, the 16710‑10 supports sustained operation up to industrial voltage ratings (e.g., ~300‑600 V depending on implementation) with associated current capacity that aligns with machine‑monitoring signal requirements.
  • Why is shield continuity important in the design of 16710‑10 and how is it implemented?
Shield continuity in 16710‑10 minimizes electromagnetic distortion by providing a return path for noise currents, implemented via foil and drain wire shielding to ensure high fidelity signal integrity amidst electrical noise.
  • In what ways does the 16710‑10 interface with standard vibration sensor modules?
The 16710‑10 is designed to interface directly with Bently Nevada 3300 Series sensor modules and similar proximity/vibration transducer systems, providing dependable connectivity for monitoring loops.
