The S-Series serial interface provides connectivity between DeltaV™ systems and devices supporting serial protocols such as Modbus or Allen Bradley Data Highway Plus. The S-Series serial interface comes pre-installed with Modbus software drivers.

Additionally, other drivers are provided, allowing direct integration of various devices into the DeltaV controller's I/O subsystem. Data can be used by the control module or transmitted as SCADA tags to workstations for display and/or historical recording.
