The IC693CMM302 communication module, designed and manufactured by GE Fanuc, is a GCM+ device, also known as the Enhanced Genius Communication Module. The IC693CMM302 Enhanced Genius Communication Module can communicate globally with up to 32 devices. These devices include one GE 90-30 series PLC and 31 other devices connected to the Genius bus.
For optimal performance, it is recommended to install the IC693CMM302 Enhanced Genius Communication Module on the CPU backplane of the host PLC system, but it can also be installed on a remote backplane or expansion backplane within the same system. However, the Enhanced Genius Communication Module cannot be installed in a PLC that already has a standard Genius Communication Module or GCM installed.
The IC693CMM302 GENERAL ELECTRIC Genius communication module may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

The IC693CMM302 Enhanced Genius Communication Module is primarily used for exchanging global data, but it can also handle data monitoring with industrial or personal computers, point-to-point and master-slave communication between bus devices, and data monitoring from Genius I/O modules (note that the communication module cannot control these I/O modules).
The IC693CMM302 is primarily used for high-reliability data sharing in industrial environments.
1. Data Monitoring: Allows personal or industrial computers to monitor PLC and Genius bus data.
2. Point-to-Point Communication: Facilitates direct data exchange between different devices on the same Genius bus.
3. Remote I/O Simulation: Enables remote I/O simulation by allowing one device to read the input data of another 90-30 series PLC and control its output data.
4. Distributed I/O: Monitors data from Genius I/O modules (Note: It can monitor these modules, but cannot directly control them).
