The IC693CMM302 communication module, designed and manufactured by GE Fanuc, is a GCM+ device, also known as the Enhanced Genius Communication Module. The IC693CMM302 Enhanced Genius Communication Module can communicate globally with up to 32 devices. These devices include one GE 90-30 series PLC and 31 other devices connected to the Genius bus.

For optimal performance, it is recommended to install the IC693CMM302 Enhanced Genius Communication Module on the CPU backplane of the host PLC system, but it can also be installed on a remote backplane or expansion backplane within the same system. However, the Enhanced Genius Communication Module cannot be installed in a PLC that already has a standard Genius Communication Module or GCM installed.
