The FX-USI-0002 module can be used as a spare for the FE-USI-0002, FC-USI-0002, and FC-USI-0001 modules and can replace these modules online with identical functionality. The FX-USI-0002 module can work with other FE-USI-0002, FC-USI-0002, and FC-USI-0001 modules in a redundant SM controller. The FX-USI-0002 module is only compatible with Safety Manager software version R140.1 and later.
The FX-USI-0002 module has some enhancements, but these enhancements are not activated when it is used as a replacement for the FC-USI-0001 module. These enhancements are available in Safety Manager R151.1 and later. System configuration updates for module type USI-0002 can be performed online.
The FX-USI-0002 V1.0 Honeywell Safety Interface Module may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

The FX-USI-0002 module is pin- and functionally compatible with the FE-USI-0002, FC-USI-0002, and FCUSI-0001 modules. Safety Manager systems running software versions prior to R140.1 do not support the FX-USI-0002 module. Upgrading to the recommended software version is strongly recommended for Safety Manager systems running earlier versions. If an upgrade is not possible in the near future, end users are advised to check for sufficient spare parts in case of failure of the FE-USI-0002, FC-USI-0002, or FC-USI-0001 modules.
Replacement Capability: This product is designed for direct online replacement of older FE-USI-0002, FC-USI-0002, and FC-USI-0001 modules.
Enhanced Functionality: While backward compatible, all advanced features are only activated when used with Safety Manager R151.1 or later.
Software Requirements: Only Safety Manager software R140.1 and later are supported.
Communication Support: Provides 16-channel signal conditioning and supports industrial protocols such as Modbus TCP and Ethernet/IP for connecting field devices to higher-level control networks.
