Overview Manuals Common Applications Distinguishing and paying attention

Features:

  • Processor Interface Adaptor Module
  • Triple Modular Redundant (TMR) fault-tolerant structures
  • Part of a platform certified to IEC 61508 SIL3 standards
The Adapter provides easy access to the communications ports of the Trusted Triple Modular Redundant (TMR) Processor (T8110B & T8111) in the Controller Chassis for the Distributed Control System (DCS) and other links.

The unit is also used to enable a number of extended facilities available on the Trusted TMR Processor including facilities for the reception of IRIG-B time synchronisation signals, enabling the use of Dual (‘enhanced’) Peer to Peer and enabling the Trusted System to become MODBUS Master.

The T8120C ICS Triplex Processor Interface Adaptor Module may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

The T8120C module is designed for high-integrity automation environments where any single point of failure could cause serious harm:

Emergency shutdown (ESD) systems, gas turbine and steam turbine control and protection cabinets, fire and gas (F&G) monitoring systems, and critical process controls in petrochemical plants, nuclear facilities, and oil and gas extraction.
When searching or placing an order, "T8120C" is the only absolutely accurate part number. Some older or slightly different products in the same series may be called T8120 (without the "C," indicating an earlier version or coating difference) or T8121C (within the same series). To avoid buying the wrong one, it is recommended to always use the core code T8120C.

Ask our team:

  • What key fault-tolerant features does the T8120C provide in safety-critical industrial automation architectures?
The T8120C is a high-integrity, high-reliability, three-module redundant (TMR) processor module designed for executing deterministic control logic, fault tolerance, and safety-critical operational management in industrial control systems.
  • Why is the T8120C considered an indispensable component in safety instrumented systems and high-integrity process control frameworks?
The T8120C supports Safety Integrity Level (SIL) oriented control strategies by enabling reliable execution of safety logic, process stop sequences, and critical operational interlocks.
