This type of Trusted I/O Companion Slot Cable is designed for use with analogue or digital input modules and is suitable for connecting input signals from an internal FTA to the module.
The chassis end of the multi-core cable is fitted with two 96-way type ‘C’ connectors housed in a double-width hood. The other end of the cable is fitted with a 96-way type ‘R’ connector housed in a single-width hood enabling the cable to be connected to an FTA.

The multi-core cable is stripped back 1.5 m at both ends, then shrouded in nylon Rilgain sheathing. The ends of the sheathing are heated or fitted with over sleeving to help prevent fraying. At both the chassis and remote end, a sheathed braid allows the connector hood to be wired to safety earth. At the remote end, the multi-core screen drain is wired to a green wire to allow connection to screen earth.
1.IEC 60332-3 Class A: Certified to demonstrate flame-retardant performance in rigorous fire tests of vertical cable bundles. Effectively prevents the spread of flames from 10.5 meters of cable within industrial cabinets.
2.LSZH (Low Smoke Halogen-Free): Certified to be completely halogen-free. In the event of a fire in the electrical cabinet, the sheath material releases low-density smoke without releasing any toxic halogen gases (such as chlorine or fluorine), thus protecting technicians and sensitive components in the control room from acid corrosion.
3.IEC 61508:2010 (Second Edition): The entire Trusted architecture (including the cables in this slot) is TÜV certified to meet the safety functional requirements of SIL 3 (Safety Integrity Level 3).
4.Slot Continuity Matching: Designed to support cross-channel voting without impacting performance, meeting the stringent hardware fault tolerance (HFT = 1) requirements of SIL 3 systems during module hot-plugging.
5.UKEX and ATEX Zone 2 Certification: Evaluated according to the UL21UKEX2036X type certificate as part of the internal cabling matrix of devices marked II 3 G Ex ec IIC T4 Gc (or Ex nA IIC T4 Gc for earlier series hardware). This ensures safe cabling in locations where flammable gases may be present.
6.IECEx Compliance: Complies with international standards for explosive atmospheres (IECEx Certificate of Conformity), employing restricted electrical characteristics to prevent electrical spark or arcing failures.
7.Electrical Safety Rating: Officially rated maximum internal operating voltage of 60V and continuous current capacity of 2A per channel, preventing voltage drop and overheating issues over a transmission distance of 10.5 meters.
