Long-Distance Structural Considerations
Features:
- High-integrity, 15.0-meter Low Smoke Zero Halogen (LSZH) Local Expansion Cable
- From Expander Interface Adapter (T8312) to Expander Processor (T8310)
- It can serve as a high-load data backbone network specifically designed for Trusted TMR (Triple Modular Redundancy) safety instrumented system platforms
The ICS Triplex TC-301-02-15M0 (part of the Rockwell Automation/ICS Triplex Trusted Core Safety series) is an ultra-long span local extension and communication cable assembly designed for Triple Modular Redundancy (TMR) critical control systems. As a critical physical connection in large distributed rack architectures, this component is primarily used to establish a high-speed, transparent physical communication link between Trusted TMR extension processors (such as the T8310) in the main rack and extension interface adapter units (such as the T8312) in remote racks.
Its main unit is equipped with a dedicated 96-pin C-type industrial connector (with a robust metal protective shell and a dedicated safety grounding braid), while the extension end connects to a high-precision 12-pin LEMO fastening plug, ensuring plug-and-play functionality and high-security locking even in harsh, high-vibration, and heavy-duty industrial environments. To completely overcome the signal attenuation, waveform distortion, and potential impedance mismatch issues commonly encountered in ultra-long-distance transmissions exceeding 15 meters, the component employs specially designed ultra-low attenuation conductors and extremely high-standard end-soldering processes.
The TC-301-02-15M0 ICS Triplex Local Expansion Cable, 15m may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

In large industrial process environments—such as multi-unit petrochemical complexes, offshore platforms, or nuclear power plants—safety-critical systems (e.g., emergency shutdown (ESD) or fire and gas (F&G) networks) are much larger than a single room or cabinet module. The TC-301-02-15M0 is used to connect these remote system nodes. It outputs fault-tolerant high-speed backplane communication data from the T8312 Expansion Interface Adapter (XIA) module located in the main controller chassis and transmits it directly to the T8310 Expansion Processor Module (XPM) installed in a remote local expansion rack via an extended transmission path.
Due to the 15.0-meter length approaching the operational limits of local high-speed bus data transmission, this model incorporates advanced engineering safety measures to prevent signal attenuation and withstand mechanical stress:
Chassis A (Processor Side): Equipped with a robust 96-pin C-type female connector featuring double-width heavy-duty shielding and integrated grounding protection. This connector is securely locked to the front panel of the T8310 expansion processor.
Chassis B (Interface Side): Equipped with a high-integrity 12-pin LEMO precision push-pull circular metal connector. This cable is securely locked to the T8312 port, providing a connection capable of withstanding the vibrations of heavy industrial cabinets and the substantial suspended weight of a 15-meter cable.
An advanced internal Cat 6 Plus shielding layer prevents signal attenuation and suppresses electromagnetic interference (EMI), ensuring the system maintains strict SIL 3 functional safety voting loop timing boundaries even when transmitting through dense overhead cable trays with high-voltage lines.
