Product Information:

The PCI-5122 is a high-resolution 14-bit dual-channel digital oscilloscope card designed for the standard PCI bus and manufactured by National Instruments (NI). With its low-distortion analog front-end and deep data stream storage architecture, it is widely used in automated test systems, scientific research, and high-speed data acquisition.

This oscilloscope card features highly flexible edge, window, video, and digital trigger engines (supporting 100 ps-level high-precision timestamp counting). In multi-record acquisition mode, it can continuously acquire up to 100,000 trigger waveforms without software intervention.

It supports seamless integration into LabVIEW or C/C++ development environments via standard NI-SCOPE drivers, making it ideal for high-precision acquisition of weak time and frequency domain signals in fields such as automotive electronics, ultrasound medicine, radar communications, and scientific research.

Information

Overview Manuals Working principle Application & Integration

Features:

  • High-resolution, 14-bit digital oscilloscope (digitizer)
  • Designed for PCI-based automated test and measurement systems
  • Used for tasks requiring precise time-domain and frequency-domain analysis
This module features two synchronous sampling channels with 14-bit resolution and a maximum real-time sampling rate of 100 MS/s, making it ideal for high-precision, wide dynamic range, and high-frequency signal acquisition. This powerful module offers a wide input range of 200 mV to 20 V and abundant onboard memory options, enabling lossless acquisition of signals with long durations and complex waveforms.

It is fully integrated with NI-SCOPE driver software, allowing seamless synchronization with other instruments via the PXI/PCI bus, and supports advanced trigger modes for precise signal isolation and analysis.

The PCI-5122 NI NATIONAL INSTRUMENTS Digital Calibration Procedure may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

In terms of operation, the PCI-5122 first scales and filters the input analog signal through a high-fidelity front-end circuit before sending it to a high-speed analog-to-digital converter (ADC). These ADCs sample the signal at fixed time intervals, converting instantaneous voltages into 14-bit digital data. The data is then transferred to the onboard memory via a high-speed controller that uses a reference clock to manage timing and synchronization, ensuring jitter-free data acquisition on both channels.
  1. Software Compatibility: Fully integrated with NI LabVIEW, LabWindows/CVI, and Measurement Studio. It uses the NI-SCOPE driver, which includes over 50 built-in measurement and analysis functions.
  2. Common Applications: Used for ultrasonic and radar signal processing, event detection, and high-channel-count simultaneous measurements when multiple modules are connected.
  3. Physical Configuration: Requires a standard PCI expansion slot. It features a BNC female connector for analog inputs and external triggering.
