The 3500 system rack design can accommodate all 3500 monitoring modules and rack power supplies. It allows the individual 3500 modules to communicate with each other, and the power supply can distribute power to each module as needed.
The power supply and rack interface modules must be installed in the leftmost rack position. The remaining 14 rack positions (7 for mini racks) can be used to install any combination of modules.

The Bently Nevada 3500/05 rack serves as the "hardware motherboard" and "communication hub" of the entire monitoring system. Through an integrated high-density backplane bus, it provides stable power distribution and high-speed data channels for all inserted modules (such as power supplies, rack interface modules, and various monitors).
Power Generation:
Hydropower and Steam Turbines: Racks for monitoring large turbines, generators, and bearings. It protects unused I/O slots from the high humidity and temperature typical of power plants.
Wind Farms: Protects monitoring hardware within remote wind turbine nacelles, minimizing dust and environmental intrusion to ensure long-term reliability.
Oil and Gas:
Offshore Production: Used on semi-submersible platforms and floating production units. It is critical for maintaining IP protection ratings (e.g., some upgraded models reach IP67), protecting backplane connectors from corrosive salt spray.
Refining and Petrochemicals: Protects centrifugal and axial compressors, as well as large process pumps. The protective enclosure ensures compliance with hazardous area protection requirements through a sealed rack housing.
Heavy Manufacturing and Processing:
Steel Mills and Paper Mills: Used in high-vibration environments to protect bearings in gearboxes, fans, and large motors.
Water Treatment and Wastewater Treatment: Provides protection for pump and blower monitoring systems within plant-wide asset health management programs.
