The HIMA F2DO1602 operates on a standard 24VDC voltage, with a power consumption range of 18W to 74W (depending on the output load). Its typical response time is less than 10 milliseconds, ensuring accurate and timely response even in hazardous environments. In terms of field deployment and environmental adaptability, the F2DO1602 module is designed for harsh field environments, supporting field installation in Zone 2 explosion-proof hazardous areas.
When used with a cabinet compliant with EN 60079-15 and with a protection rating of at least IP54, the module can operate stably over a wide temperature range of -20°C to +60°C and can function in dusty environments. This distributed solution places valves and actuators directly near the industrial site, significantly reducing the cost of traditional long-distance copper cabling from the control room to the industrial site and completely eliminating the safety hazards associated with intermediate transmission links.
The F2DO1602 HIMA Safety-Related Controller Output Module may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

When integrating the F2DO1602 into an emergency stop (ESD) circuit, protecting the internal relays from induced back EMF spikes is crucial:
External fuse: HIMA guidelines require the installation of an external time-delay fuse of up to 10 A on the power line to prevent overcurrent from blowing the contacts.
Relay lifecycle tracking: Because these are physical mechanical relays, their lifespan depends on the switching cycle. Engineers should periodically obtain the runtime diagnostic counter via SILworX to schedule preventative module replacement before contact performance deteriorates.
