Features:
- ASi-3 PROFIBUS Gateway in Stainless Steel
- 2 ASi masters, 1 power supply for 2 ASi networks
- Diagnostic and configuration via RS232 diagnostic interface, duplicate address recognition, ASi fault detector
This device integrates two AS-i masters, capable of managing two independent AS-i network loops simultaneously using a single dedicated power supply, and supporting the use of a single power supply to power both masters, thus greatly simplifying hardware deployment in industrial environments.
As a powerful diagnostic and control center, it possesses comprehensive equipment status monitoring and protection mechanisms. The gateway supports duplicate address diagnostics and AS-i fault detection, enabling rapid location of abnormal nodes on the bus.
The BWU1777 Bihl+Wiedemann PROFIBUS Gateway in Stainless Steel may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

This gateway adopts a master-slave architecture: one end acts as a PROFIBUS slave, exchanging data at high speed with the upper-level PLC and other controllers; the other end acts as a dual AS-i master, continuously polling lower-level sensor and actuator nodes via the bus. It can parse and encapsulate the acquired lower-level switch or analog signals to generate data packets recognizable by the upper-level fieldbus; conversely, it can also send upper-level control commands to various lower-level actuators, thereby realizing seamless bidirectional information flow between industrial field devices and the control system.
1.Automotive Assembly Lines: Ideal for managing distributed digital inputs/outputs (e.g., limit switches and valves) on large physical conveyor lines.
2.Packaging and Material Handling: Allows direct integration of high-density sensor networks into a centralized fieldbus architecture, eliminating the need for excessive cabling.
