Product Information:

The Keyence EX-416 is a high-speed, high-precision inductive proximity sensor belonging to the Keyence EX-200 series. It employs eddy current non-contact measurement technology to detect displacement, gaps, or presence of metallic targets in industrial environments.

Its technological advantages include an ultra-high response frequency of up to 13 kHz (with even higher response frequencies achievable in certain modes with a controller), an ultra-high resolution of 0.04% F.S., and a built-in open-circuit alarm output (normally closed).

The probe housing has an IP67 industrial-grade dust and water resistance rating, allowing for stable operation in harsh environments from -10 to +60 °C. It is commonly used for high-speed, sub-micron precision online detection, such as eccentric runout of metal shafts, abnormal bearing vibration, and equipment blind spots.

Features:

  • High response speed of up to 18 kHz
  • Linearity of ± 1% of F.S.;Resolution of 0.04% of F.S.
  • Sensor head housing IP-67 rated
The EX-200 Series measures target displacement with a resolution of 0.04% F.S. (0.4 µm 0.02 Mil with the EX-305 sensor head). The dual analog outputs (v oltage/current) enab le connection to e xternal equipment.

It accurately outputs minute displacements via dual analog signals (0 to 5 V voltage and 4 to 20 mA current), with a measurement range of 0 to 5 mm and a full-scale linearity of ±1% F.S. Its technological advantages lie in its ultra-high response frequency of up to 13 kHz (and even higher in some modes using a controller) and extremely high resolution of 0.04% F.S.

The EX-416 KEYENCE High-Accuracy Digital Displacement Inductive Sensor may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).
KEYENCE EX-416 High-Accuracy Digital Displacement Inductive Sensor MANUAL(Datasheets), Link Important Notice: Other accessories, manuals, cables, calibration data, software, etc. are not included with this equipment unless listed in the above stock item description. All prices are shown in USD.
Linearity of ± 1% of F.S.
Using the b uilt-in linearizer circuit, the EX-200 Ser ies accurately outputs absolute displacement v alues.
High response speed
The EX-200 Series offers a response frequency of up to 18 kHz (with the EX-305), allowing measurement of rapidly vibr ating targets .
Auto-zero key
Pressing the auto-zero (ZERO) key sets the present voltage output
to 0 V (current output to 4 mA). Zero-point adjustment with a
reference target can be completed simply by pressing the ZERO key.
DIN-rail mountable compact amplifier
The DIN-rail or screw-mountable amplifier can be installed anywhere.
• If the sensor head is damaged or the cab le is disconnected, the ALARM LED indicator lights and an alarm signal is output.
• If the target is out of the measuring range, the OVER LED indicator lights. Operators can easily adjust sensor position using the OVER indicator.
Compatibility
Since the controller and sensor head are f actory-calibrated as a pair, check that they have the same serial number. If the y do not ha ve the same serial number, their characteristics may vary significantly .
Mounting
Tighten the EX-305 set scre w and EX-110 nut away from the tip of the sensor head.
Mutual interference
When one or more sensor head of the same model are installed side b y side, the sensor may not output the correct v oltage due to m utual interference. Make sure thatthe distance betw een adjacent sensor heads is larger than the values shown belo w.
Sensor head cable
The sensor head cab le length should be 3 m 9.8'. If y ou extend or cut the cab le, its characteristics will change.

Technical notes
