Key Replacement Tips
Features:
- IGBT MODULE+DRIVE FS450R12KE3/AGDR71C S; IGBT KIT
- ABB ACS800-02/04 single drive and ACS/ACH550-02 drive
- Engineered for standard industrial high-voltage tracks up to 1200 V
As the core power output hub of the inverter unit, its main function is to receive low-voltage frequency and voltage regulation commands from the control system, perform high-speed switching of high-power electrical energy, and output high-quality AC power to drive heavy industrial motors.
In terms of hardware specifications and electrical protection, this kit demonstrates superior power electronics integration and industrial-grade reliability. The integrated IGBT module has a rated current of 450A and a rated voltage of 1200V, employing a low-inductance, high-power-density design. This compact "drive + power supply" kit significantly reduces internal parasitic inductance, optimizes switching losses, and is unaffected by high-frequency electromagnetic interference, thus providing extremely high data integrity and operational safety for variable frequency drive systems in demanding applications such as oil, chemical, and steel industries.
The FS450R12KE3/AGDR-71C S ABB IGBT module may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

Critical Maintenance Considerations: ABB documentation strongly recommends that when installing a new IGBT module, the flexible IGBT control ribbon cable must be replaced with a brand new cable to prevent localized short circuits caused by noise from the old signal.
Replacing Flat Cables: ABB officially and experienced after-sales experts strongly recommend using brand-new IGBT control low-voltage flat cables when replacing IGBT drive modules in the field.
Aged flat cables, due to prolonged heat exposure and aging, are prone to poor contact, potentially causing a secondary explosion of the newly replaced IGBT module.
Thermal Grease Temperature Uniformity: During installation, when applying thermal grease to the back of the IGBT substrate, the thickness must strictly adhere to the manual specifications (recommended thickness approximately 100μm). Screws must be tightened using a multi-step, cross-torque method; otherwise, excessive thermal resistance will cause localized overheating during module operation, resulting in damage.
