The 3300 XL Proximitor Sensor incorporates numerous improvements over previous designs. Its physical packaging allows you to use it in high-density DIN-rail installations. You can also mount the sensor in a traditional panel mount configuration, where it shares an identical 4-hole mounting “footprint” with older Proximitor Sensor designs. The mounting base for either option provides electrical isolation and eliminates the need for separate isolator plates.
The 3300 XL Proximitor Sensor is highly immune to radio frequency interference, allowing you to install it in fiberglass housings without adverse effects from nearby radio frequency signals. The 3300 XL Proximitor Sensor’s improved RFI/EMI immunity satisfies European CE mark approvals without requiring special shielded conduit or metallic housings, resulting in lower installation costs and complexity.
The 330180-X1-05 MOD:145004-15 Bently Nevada 3300 XL Proximitor Sensor may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

1.ATEX/UKEX Zone 0/1/2 Certification: Complies with European and UK safety standards for potentially explosive environments. For intrinsically safe (Ex ia) installations, rated Zone 0/1 (Group IIC) when wired with approved electrical insulation. For non-sparking configurations, rated Zone 2 (Ex nA / Ex ec).
2.IECEx Global Certification: Complies with international standards IEC 60079-0 and IEC 60079-11. This specifies its gas group classification (Group IIC for hydrogen/acetylene environments) and temperature code (T4/T5, depending on local environmental limitations).
3.North American Certification (CSA/NRTL): Intrinsically safe systems are certified in Zone 1 (Groups A, B, C, D); non-sparking systems are certified in Zone 2 (Groups A, B, C, D).
4.API 670 Standard (American Petroleum Institute): This standard specifies mechanical protection systems. The basic design of the 3300 XL conforms to API 670 requirements for physical dimensions, interchangeable linear range, and accuracy. While MOD: 145004-15 modifies the internal bridge circuitry to read specific non-standard target alloy materials (instead of standard 4140 carbon steel), it still maintains the API-specified 200 mV/mil (7.87 V/mm) linear scaling factor, covering its measurement threshold range.
5.IEC 61508 (SIL 2/SIL 3 Capability): When integrated into larger Bently Nevada 3500 protected racks or certified safety PLC loops, these sensors possess sufficient hardware tolerance and low probability of failure (PFD) to support native SIL 2 systems or SIL 3 systems in redundant voting architectures (e.g., 2/3 logic).
