9200 Two-wire Transducer

9200-02-01-10-00

Spare Part Number

PN9200-02-01-10-00

Product Information:

The 9200-02-01-10-00 is a Seismoprobe moving-coil velocity sensor manufactured by Bently Nevada. As a classic industrial-grade vibration monitoring hardware, it is used to measure absolute vibration (relative to free space) in bearing housings, machine enclosures, or building structures.

The 9200-02-01-10-00 incorporates several advanced technologies: a specific mounting angle and minimum operating frequency, a plug/terminal connection with direct top wiring, a circular mounting base with M10 x 1 threads, and the requirement for no special non-standard explosion-proof certification, making it suitable for rigid vertical mounting in typical industrial environments.

Regarding core technology and electrical characteristics, the 9200-02-01-10-00 employs a two-wire design, internally based on traditional moving-coil technology. It requires no external power supply; instead of using a traditional magnetic induction vibration sensor, it generates a voltage signal proportional to the vibration velocity by mechanically vibrating an internal coil in a magnetic field. This product boasts a standard voltage sensitivity of up to 20 mV/mm/s (500 mV/in/s), and its frequency response range meets the needs of low- to medium-frequency mechanical vibration monitoring.

The 9200 is a two-wire transducer suitable for continuous monitoring or for periodic measurements in conjunction with test or diagnostic instruments. When ordered with the integral cable option, the 9200 has excellent resistance to corrosive environments without need of additional protection.

Bently Nevada™ Seismoprobe Velocity Transducer Systems are designed to measure absolute (relative to free space) bearing housing, casing, or structural vibration. The two-wire systems consist of a transducer and appropriate cable. The Seismoprobe family of velocity transducers is a two-wire design that uses moving-coil technology. It provides a voltage output directly proportional to the transducer's vibration velocity. Moving-coil transducers are less sensitive to impact or impulsive excitation than solid-state velocity transducers, which are inherently accelerometers with embedded integration electronics. Moving-coil transducers are less sensitive to impact or impulsive excitation and can represent a good choice for certain applications. Because they don’t require external power, they are convenient for portable measurement applications.

The 9200-02-01-10-00 Bently Nevada Two-wire Transducer may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

The 9200 Series is designed for heavy machinery and is suitable for applications where rotor vibration is directly transmitted to the housing, or where it is impossible to install a relative shaft measuring device:

Pumps and Fans: Monitor large centrifugal pumps, cooling tower fans, and induced draft/forced draft fans to detect imbalances, structural loosening, or aerodynamic instabilities via housing rotation speed.
Gas Turbines and Steam Turbines: Mounted on the bearing housings of critical turbine equipment to track overall structural integrity and detect blade deterioration or misalignment.
Reciprocating and Centrifugal Compressors: Measure housing structural vibrations of heavy-duty compressor frames to prevent mechanical failure.
Harsh and Low-Power Environments: Suitable for remote piping networks, retrofitting of older equipment, or portable data acquisition systems where setting up loop power or proximity drive systems is impractical.

Technical notes

The Bently Nevada 9200-02-01-10-00 is a seismic velocity sensor based on dual-wire brake ring technology, designed for absolute mechanical vibration measurement of bearing housings or machine housings. It is mounted vertically at 90°, equipped with a MIL-C-5015 connector, and has a frequency response range of 4.5-1000 Hz.
