The IC693PTM101 is a programmable coprocessor module specifically developed for the 90-30 series PLC platform. Its primary function is to offload high-level computational tasks from the main CPU, thereby improving overall system efficiency and deterministic control performance. It is particularly suitable for applications requiring intensive data processing, complex mathematical modeling, motion calculations, or high-speed communication processing, which often place an excessive burden on the main controller.
In practical applications, the IC693PTM101 operates as an intelligent auxiliary processor within the PLC rack. It allows engineers to implement custom programs (typically written in C or similar high-level languages) to execute specialized control logic or data manipulation routines. By running semi-independently on top of standard PLC ladder logic scans, this module enhances real-time responsiveness and supports complex automation strategies in manufacturing, material handling, and process control systems.
The IC693PTM101 GENERAL ELECTRIC Power Transducer Module may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

The IC693PTM101 operates on a parallel processing architecture within the PLC backplane environment. After being installed in the rack, the module communicates with the host CPU via a shared memory structure or a backplane data exchange mechanism. The host controller transmits relevant input data to the coprocessor, which then autonomously executes its user-defined program. After a calculation cycle is complete, the processing result is written back to a shared register or memory location and integrated into the PLC's main control logic for output execution and monitoring functions.
