Features:
- Industrial termination cable
- Designed for use within the Foxboro I/A Series
- Distributed Control System (DCS) to provide secure signal transmission between field devices and control modules
Its core function is to provide a standardized wiring interface for analog input signals (such as 4-20mA current signals), aggregating signals from field pressure, flow, or level transmitters and transmitting them to the corresponding fieldbus module (such as the FBM201).
It simplifies complex wiring within the control cabinet and ensures signal integrity through highly reliable multi-pin connectors. This component plays a crucial role in providing electrical isolation and physical protection in industrial environments.
The P0916WG Invensys Foxboro Industrial termination cable may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

The P0916WG serves as the physical platform for signal distribution and conversion. Its internal PCB backplane circuitry logically maps the screw terminals on the field side to the cable interfaces on the system side. When a field instrument outputs a current signal, the signal first enters the component's independent channel, where internal filtering circuitry removes high-frequency interference. The signal is then transmitted via the system bus cable to the FBM module for analog-to-digital conversion. Simultaneously, if two-wire instruments are involved, the component can safely transmit power from the control system to the field side.
The P0916WG is designed for critical process control and automation in high-risk industries:
- Energy and Power Generation: Used for burner management and boiler control, coordinating start-up, shutdown, and fuel equipment safety.
- Oil and Gas Refining: Facilitates stable communication between control room processors and field sensors in refining and distribution networks.
- Chemical and Pharmaceutical Processing: Used in systems that monitor critical parameters such as temperature, pressure, and flow rate, where signal integrity is paramount.
- Water Treatment: Integrated into monitoring systems to ensure continuous plant availability.
