Overview Manuals Principle Applications Industrial Use Cases

Features:

  • 16710-33 Standard Interconnect Cable
  • Interconnect Cables for 330400 and 330425 Accelerometer
  • 3-conductor shielded 22 AWG (0.5 mm2) armored cable with 3-socket plug at one end
3-conductor shielded 22 AWG (0.5 mm2) armored cable with 3-socket plug at one end, terminal lugs at the other end. Minimum length of 3.0 ft (0.9 m), maximum length of 99 ft (30 m).

These accelerometers are suitable for critical mechanical applications requiring the measurement of housing acceleration, such as gear meshing monitoring. The Model 330400 accelerometer is designed to meet the American Petroleum Institute (API) 670 standard for accelerometers. It has a peak amplitude range of 50 g and a sensitivity of 100 mV/g. The Model 330425 accelerometer is similar, but has a larger peak amplitude range (75 g) and a sensitivity of 25 mV/g.

The 16710-33 Bently Nevada Interconnect Cable may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

If housing measurements are performed for comprehensive machine protection, the applicability of the measurements to each application should be considered. Most common machine failures (imbalance, misalignment, etc.) originate from the rotor and cause increased (or at least altered) rotor vibration. For any individual housing measurement to effectively protect the entire machine, it must be ensured that rotor vibration is accurately transmitted to the bearing housing or housing, and more specifically, to the sensor mounting location.
Sensor Connectivity: Its primary function is to connect the 330400 and 330425 accelerometers to mechanical protection systems.
Condition Monitoring: Used in critical mechanical applications requiring measurement of housing acceleration, such as gear engagement monitoring.
Mechanical Protection: Typically integrated into industrial vibration monitoring systems compliant with API 670 standards.
This cable is standard equipment in industries where equipment failure can lead to high downtime costs, including:
Oil & Gas: Used to monitor refinery and petrochemical process equipment.
Power Generation: Used to connect housing sensors for turbines and large pumps.
Heavy Manufacturing: Used in municipal engineering and large-scale automation systems.

Technical notes

The 16710-33 features a 3-core, 22 AWG (0.5 mm²) shielded design with FEP insulation; it is terminated with a standard 3-pin connector at one end and flying leads at the other, effectively suppressing the radio frequency and electromagnetic interference (RFI/EMI) common in industrial environments. Its exterior is encased in rugged stainless steel or aluminum alloy armor, offering exceptional resistance to mechanical crushing, impact, and abrasion. The model suffix "-33" indicates a standard factory length of 33 feet (approximately 10 meters), ensuring precise and reliable signal transmission for critical rotating machinery monitoring applications, such as gearbox monitoring and casing vibration measurement.

Cable Construction

The 16710-33 is a 3-conductor, shielded 22 AWG (0.5 mm²) cable with stainless-steel armor, fitted with a female connector at the accelerometer end and terminal lugs at the monitoring end.

Length & Compatibility

The “-33” option specifies a 33 ft (approximately 10 m) cable length, designed for connection with Bently Nevada 330400 and 330425 accelerometers.
