Product Information:

The Bently Nevada 330101-04-30-05-01-05 is an industrial-grade 3300 XL series 8mm eddy current proximity sensor probe. As a core sensor in Bently Nevada's (a brand under Baker Hughes) asset protection and condition monitoring systems, it is widely and securely installed near the hydrodynamically lubricated bearings of high-value rotating machinery such as industrial steam turbines, centrifugal compressors, large steam turbine expanders, and fans. This probe is designed for non-contact, high-precision measurement of rotor radial vibration, axial displacement (position), and critical phase velocity signals.

In terms of its basic operating principle, the Bently Nevada 330101-04-30-05-01-05 features a front end encapsulated in high-strength polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) insulation, while the housing is precision-manufactured from 303/304 stainless steel, fully capable of withstanding long-term immersion and continuous scouring in high-temperature lubricating oils ranging from -52°C to +177°C.

Within its measurement range (linearity up to 2.0 mm), the Bently Nevada 330101-04-30-05-01-05 fully complies with the American Petroleum Institute (API) 670 standard for linearity and temperature drift. When used with the dedicated 3300 XL proximity sensor, it utilizes the eddy current effect of a high-frequency electromagnetic field to convert minute physical gap changes between the probe tip and the surface of the measured journal into a high standard proportional voltage signal with a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of 7.87 V/mm (200 mV/mil). This provides stable and fully interchangeable precision monitoring data for online monitoring equipment in the control room, such as the 3500 system, without the need for individual instrument calibration.

The 3300 XL probe and extension cable also reflect improvements over previous designs. A patented TipLoc molding method provides a more robust bond between the probe tip and the probe body. The probe’s cable incorporates a patented CableLoc design that provides 330 N (75 lbf) pull strength to more securely attach the probe cable and probe tip.

8 mm probes provide a thicker encapsulation of the probe coil in the molded PPS plastic probe tip. This results in a more rugged probe. The larger diameter of the probe body also provides a stronger, more robust case. We recommend that you use 8 mm probes when possible to provide optimal robustness against physical abuse.
