Information

Overview Manuals Basic Info Environmental Limits System Architecture & Redundancy

Features:

  • 3701/55 ADAPT ESD Monitor
  • 3701/55 ADAPT (ESD) Emergency Shutdown Device
  • ADAPT ESD Processing Module (CPU)
The ADAPT ESD system has three CPU modules. The CPU (part number 323174-01) is a state-ofthe-art, high-performance CPU module. All three CPU modules process all 32 discrete inputs and 12 analog inputs. Each individual CPU module processes two speed inputs, for a total of six speed inputs. The CPU module features redundant Ethernet connections. The CPU receives trip logic configuration from the Bently Nevada Monitor Configuration software.

The trip logic can have up to 500 logic steps. The input-to-output decision time is optimized to provide 2ms nominal logic processing time and 8ms relay toggle time in order to minimize the overall duration between detection of an emergency condition and successful shutdown. All embedded code on the CPU is capable of being upgraded without disassembly of the system.

The 3701/55 323174-01 Bently Nevada ADAPT ESD CPU processing module may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

The standard deployment of the 3701/55 ADAPT ESD system strongly recommends a Triple Modular Redundancy (TMR) architecture. In this configuration:
Processor Composition: The system comprises three parallel CPU modules (each with part number 323174-01), which operate simultaneously.
Voting Logic: All three CPUs operate independently and interleave processing the entire I/O data pool to execute the fault-safe shutdown voting logic. This design prevents single points of failure from causing false triggering or shutdown failure.

Technical notes

3701/55 is specified for Bently Nevada ADAPT ESD emergency shutdown applications and processes discrete, analog and speed inputs through redundant CPU modules for high-integrity shutdown logic. Its exact ordering identity depends on both 3701/55 and CPU part number 323174-01, hardware revision, system configuration, firmware, and application logic backup; compatibility must therefore be checked against the installed 3701/55 chassis, redundant CPU set, I/O modules, firmware, logic project, and safety validation. Installation and connection should follow the cited manufacturer document, with controlled shutdown, logic backup, redundant CPU handling, module seating, firmware, proof testing, and safety procedures confirmed before the item is placed in service.

Nameplate Identity Check

Confirm the complete 3701/55 marking, both 3701/55 and CPU part number 323174-01, hardware revision, system configuration, firmware, and application logic backup. If any suffix, approval option, or MOD number is unclear, send a readable nameplate photo so Moore Automated can match the exact item before quotation.
