The FANUC A06B-6087-H155 is a high-power Alpha series power module (PSM-55) designed specifically for large CNC machine tools and automated machining centers. As the main power supply for FANUC CNC drive systems, this module features a 300mm wide industrial-grade housing and a powerful dual-cooling fan system to ensure excellent thermal stability under high loads. It can connect to a 200V to 240V three-phase AC mains, providing a powerful output of up to 55kW (continuous output) to 65kW (peak output). It is designed to provide high-capacity, high-density centralized power support for spindle modules (SPMs) and multiple equivalent-power servo amplifier modules (SVMs) in the main circuit.
This power module integrates a FANUC-specific high-specification power circuit board and an A16B-2202-042x control card, offering superior industrial-grade durability and system integration. Its overall energy conversion efficiency is extremely high (over 95%), effectively reducing heat generation within the machine tool cabinet and optimizing factory energy consumption. To cope with various power grid disturbances in heavy industrial processing, the module integrates comprehensive hardware-level protection mechanisms, including overload protection, instantaneous overcurrent cutoff, overvoltage and overheat alarms, and monitors its own and external axis electrical status through built-in sensors.

If a system malfunctions, the integrated seven-segment LED display will show the fault indication code. Detailed test procedures, wiring diagrams, and circuit board component information are archived in the comprehensive GE FANUC Alpha series maintenance manual.
Common system faults include:
Alarm 01: Overcurrent in the main DC bus circuit;
Alarm 02: Control power supply voltage drop or internal low voltage fault;
Alarm 04: Main circuit undervoltage (usually caused by an open power contactor or a drop in line voltage).
The A06B-6087-H155 employs advanced high-power rectification and DC bus voltage regulation technology. When the module receives three-phase AC power, its internally packaged high-power IGBT transistor module works in conjunction with a high-performance three-phase rectifier bridge to convert the unstable power frequency AC power into high-voltage DC power of approximately 283V to 325V.
This DC power is then injected into a shared DC intermediate circuit (DC link), where it is smoothed and filtered by a large-capacity capacitor bank to form a stable DC power bus, directly powering adjacent servo motors and spindle drives. Simultaneously, when the machine tool's heavy spindle undergoes rapid deceleration and braking, the motor acts as a generator, feeding a large amount of energy back to the system.
At this time, the module's energy recovery control circuit and control card activate the inverter feedback mechanism, inverting the excess energy on the DC bus into AC power that meets grid requirements and feeding it back to the grid (energy recovery technology). This significantly saves energy and achieves precise closed-loop power management.
