Features:
- VME Communications Interface
- General Electric's Mark VI Turbine Control System Series
- Mark VI IS200 Series produced by GE General Electric
This module is typically installed in the VME control rack, serving as the "communication hub" of the entire control system. Its primary function is to coordinate data exchange between the various input/output (I/O) boards within the VME rack and the main controller, ensuring high-speed synchronous transmission of sensor data and control commands.
This module supports a triple redundancy (TMR) architecture, distributing field data across three independent control channels (R, S, T), thereby achieving extremely high system reliability. Furthermore, it integrates status monitoring capabilities, enabling real-time detection of communication faults on the VME bus and backplane power status, providing maintenance personnel with intuitive operational feedback through panel LED indicators or host software.
The IS200VCMIH2BCD/IS215VCMIH2BC GENERAL ELECTRIC VME Communications Interface may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).
The IS200VCMIH2BCD monitors the communication activity of the VME bus through its onboard high-performance microprocessor. It utilizes specific logic circuitry to encapsulate raw signals from the I/O modules and convert them into high-speed serial data packets conforming to the IONet protocol. During operation, it is responsible for addressing and synchronizing data between the various boards within the rack, ensuring that all control operations are based on the same real-time clock reference, thereby achieving precise control of large rotating machinery such as gas turbines or steam turbines.
