- DCS (Distributed Control System) control card
- Designed as a core component for complex industrial automation systems
The Hitachi LPU100H is a high-performance central processing unit (CPU module) for industrial automation, belonging to its logic control processing unit series.
It can handle up to 32 digital inputs/outputs and 16 analog inputs, specifically designed for performing complex logic calculations, PID control, and production process control tasks. For system connectivity and diagnostics, the LPU100H integrates multiple communication interfaces (such as Ethernet, RS-485, CANopen, etc.).
The LPU100H Hitachi CPU board may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

The LPU100H uses a 32-bit RISC high-level microprocessor as its processing core, cyclically scanning the field I/O status via a high-speed internal bus. It first reads pressure, temperature, or switch signals collected by the input modules and stores them in the data mirror area; then, it performs real-time logic deduction based on the user-preset control program (such as logic interlocking or floating-point arithmetic); finally, it converts the calculation results into output instructions to drive external actuators, thereby achieving closed-loop automatic control.
The LPU100H is designed for critical infrastructure and harsh industrial environments:
- Process Control (Oil & Gas/Chemical): Suitable for continuous and intermittent production with extremely high requirements for deterministic processing and stability. It is typically used as a safety controller or process controller in a plant.
- Power Generation and Utilities: Commonly used in digital substations and grid operation to manage remote protection data and ensure high-quality, high-reliability communication.
- Water Supply and Wastewater Treatment Systems: Suitable for large utility management due to its reliability in long-distance communication and redundant network capabilities.
- Production Line Automation: Controls and monitors complex equipment in production lines, supporting multi-axis motion and high-speed sequential control.
